Plant and Equipment Operator Competency Assessment

The course is based on the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, the Lifting Equipment and Lifting Operations Regulations and the approved Code of practice that accompanies the Regulations.

The objective is to assess the competency of individuals who have a current (or recently expired) accredited plant operator qualification whilst providing specific Health & Safety training relevant to various categories of plant / lifting equipment.

Course Categories:

Delegates will be given a short lecture supported by written handouts followed by an assessment based on various practical tests using a specific piece of lifting equipment.
The course is designed to be held at company sites and is Certificated.

Course Requirements:

  • Use of site meeting room / lecture room facilities (or similar) - 2 hour minimum
  • Use of a fully operational piece of plant / lifting equipment designated for the course - 2-hour minimum
  • Copies of the equipment manufacturers instruction manual.
  • Copies of relevant Health & Safety and maintenance records.
  • Delegates to be in possession of appropriate PPE required for the task.
