Our Risk Assessment Service
Every employer is required by law to make a suitable and sufficient assessment
of:
a) The risks to health and safety of his employees to which they are exposed
whilst they are at work;
b) The risks to health and safety of persons not in his employment arising out
of, or in connection with, the conduct by him of his undertaking.
We produce two types of Risk Assessment:
Generic Risk Assessment –
Generic Risk Assessments are made to cover the basic features involved when
carrying out activities where the hazards and risks associated with them are
similar, even when carried out in different physical work areas or workplaces.
Generic Risk Assessments come as standard with our Safety Policies
Task Specific Risk Assessment –
There are likely to be situations, in specific areas or on specific occasions,
when a Generic assessment will not be sufficiently detailed. In these situations,
where specific hazards are associated with particular situations, a special
assessment must be made every time that work is done.
Our assessments detail control measures in line with Regulation and Approved
Codes of Practice that must be followed, in order to reduce the risk of accident
or injury from hazards that have been identified. However, it is recommended
that a separate Safe Method of Work Statement be produced for situations such
as demolition, erection of steelwork structures or the removal of asbestos,
or where a Risk Assessment has identified that certain hazards cannot be eliminated
and risk factors remain.
